Who keeps the seas safe? 3rd Class Courtney Browder from College Station, Texas, serves as a surface sonar technician with the United States Navy. The image above shows Browder conducting an anti-submarine search aboard the USS Gridley (DDG-101): the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer stationed in the South China Sea. Gridley is assigned to the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group. Browder’s duty serving in the United States Navy is to protect the country’s interests and stay committed to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
